Thanks to the Herald Sun, Chickz0r, myself, and Ryan attended an advance screening of Meet the Robinsons at the Jam Factory on Wednesday.
I didn’t have high hopes for this film. For a start, we were only going because I won tickets through a Herald Sun competition. However, things picked up once we got the tickets. They were giant and novelty sized – they only just fitted into Chickz0rs handbag. Good for a giggle if nothing else.
Then after reading over them a bit more carefully, we realised it was in 3D. Good ole stereograph. Cool, we get novelty glasses to match our novelty passes.
The movie unfortunately, was a kids movie. No way to get around that. That being said, for a kids movie – a very Disney Kids movie – it was very enjoyable. There was a ‘twist’, a bad guy, a few ‘lovable’ characters – and a few very ‘hate-able’ characters for how damn ‘cutesy’ they were supposed to be…
The three of us really enjoyed ourselves, but can easily say if it wasn’t for the movie being in ‘Real D’ (as the glasses suggest), we wouldn’t have gone/enjoyed ourselves half as much.
Meet the Robinsons came out yesterday (29th March), and can still be seen in 3D at select cinema’s
As I mentioned earlier, AU Uni Students can buy Office 2007 Ultimate for just $75.
Long Zheng’s noticed it too, and thinks it is ‘a bomb waiting to explode‘.
While I agree some retailers/partners are going to be a little annoyed at first, and heck, even some customers are going to be a little mad, yes…but from Microsoft’s point of view, this is a win-win situation.
Case #1: It does explode.
The media goes into a frenzy as somebody kicks up a fuss about buying Home and Student 07 beforehand.
Point is, the media goes nuts about it, and Office 2007 gets a lot of exposure.
Worst case scenario, they refund everybody who bought H&S07 who qualifies for this offer.
Case #2: Partners get angry.
Then Microsoft reminds them that by giving Uni students Office for dirt cheap, they’re encouraging them to stay in the Microsoft environment.
Partners realise that the more people that use Microsoft products, the more Microsoft products they can see (such as Vista), or better yet, the more hardware and more third-party software they can sell.
Microsoft creates an environment for third parties to enjoy, so the real money will be with keeping users away from the evil Mac/Linux worlds.
Case #3: Students enjoy this offer for what it is.
Users buy their product (even at a greatly reduced cost), and then…they continue to use Office, rather than Office/Microsoft alternatives, when they enter the workforce.
It also puts yet another positive spin on Microsoft, rather than them being the ‘evil corperation‘ that they’ve been known to be in the last decade or three.
If this is true, there is no point getting angry and swearing, I’ll just post the pictures

Odd, I know I have a technet subscription somewhere

Oh, is that all? Okay!

Wait…wait…I thought I had to activate, but you’re telling me I already am? eh…okay…

Phew, crisis adverted…

Lets try bitlocker again…oh…oh no…
Although I’m not overly fond of it, its my first ‘finished’ WordPress theme.
I had a few iterations, none that were very striking, so I settled on this one.
The photo in the heading was one of the first photos I’ve taken with chickz0rs new S3 IS that I was proud of (that is, since I’m not artistically inclined, and this is the best camera I’ve ever used).
There were a few more photos on that shoot (we went down part of the Lilydale to Warburton Trail) that could easily be slotted in there, if I feel like a bit of variety.
Originally I was going to use a tiled/blurred background (behind the main image), but I got impatient with it screwing up. I may fix that later.
This is the original…is missing, but here is one of the same plant (follow the link for other sizes)
Xaul is staying here for a few days, he’s weird.
That explains/will explain most of my online absence from the 24th/Jan to the 3rd/Feb
So far, he’s been impressed by Melbourne having sunlight up to…9:30pm, the little lights we have on pedestrian crossing buttons, and super impressed about how warm it is here ;)
Since I didn’t say Merry Christmas, I thought I’d add that in as well.
So, for the 25th, Merry Christmas
For the 1st, 12.01->1.00am, Happy New Year
For the 1st, ~8am->on wards, Happy International Hangover Day
When I get the time, I’ll get a list of new gadgets floating around ;)
It was eight evenings before Christmas,
Nothing stirred in the house
Except for the Aeoth,
So busy debating
Which is better?

VS

I know the latter was more fun to make ;)
One of Word Press’ greatest features is its comment spam detection features, which picks up people spamming their website to attract visitors. Often its penis enlargement spam.
I’ve had a few…interesting ones of late..
Yes, that’s right, Google is apparently spamming me?
It turns out its the IP that’s the advertisement. Its a little weird, its spam designed to be picked up as spam, so that the blog owner will check out the IP (its a porn site).
A novel approach for an over flooded market I guess…
Well, as I mentioned, my PSU is dead/dying.
I didn’t get a response from CPL via email yesterday, so I called them up, after taking the PSU out (well, I just disconnected it from all peripherals/motherboard)….and it still made the noise.
I was told, at best, I can have a replacement by Monday if I drop it in today. Argh.
I contacted ASUS about the screen quality on my F3JP (grainy screen issue), and now they want me to post it to NSW!
So, my options are:
- Buy new PSU
- Wait for replacement PSU then ship the laptop
- Send of PSU, send of Laptop, and cry because I won’t even have a Wii…
According to the Doc, I was bitten by a white tail spider, on my left elbow.
For a few days, it was pretty sore, on Friday/Saturday I even get pains running down my arm, and into my hand, but thankfully, I’m on the mend.
Yay for drugs!
