On Wednesday night, we pushed out another version of MahTweets, version 2.7. It’s been a long time between releases (3 months!) but a huge amount of work has gone into it.

New Features

Improvements

There have also been a huge assortment of bugfixes, too many to list.

MahTweets Website

The MahTweets website has also undergone a huge overhaul!

Hopefully in the near future we’ll add some videos showing off some of our somewhat more hidden features, as well as fleshing out the Features, Developers and the return of the Community Plugins pages.

Future

So what does the future hold for MahTweets? Apart from a few bug fix releases, we’ll be releasing a MahTweets Developer Toolkit as well as reenabling community plugins – this will all happen under "2.7". For the next major version (2.8), we’ve not nailed down what extra features we want. However, we’ll hope to have

There is also the strong possibility that we’ll look into creating MahTweets for Android, now that I have a HTC Dream (thanks Will!)

MahTweets: It’s back

MahTweets is my twitter client of choice. Why? Well, I wrote it. Okay, that isn’t the only reason, it has some pretty awesome features distinguishing it from many Twitter clients.

Features

Tech Goodness (Requirements and other details)

Through Windows 7′s "XP Mode" I’ve tested Windows XP support, and even in the virtualised environment it was smooth – so smooth that it took me a good 10 minutes or so to notice I’d launched it in XP Mode instead of "natively"!1

Below is a screenshot of an earlier build, running XP Mode and Windows 7 "natively"1 the two running side by side.

mahtweets_crossplatform It’s so weird to see the Luna theme in Windows 7

Big thanks to WillHughes, Shiftkey, CADBloke, Chickz0r, and digihal for help, support, code and/or encouragement on the MahTweets project

1 – by "natively" I mean running in a non-virtualised environment.

TVScout 0.6

TVScout 0.6 is now released!

TVScoutBase.dll
TVScoutBase.DLL is a .NET library, and is what does all the processing for TVScout. The application you see just makes use of it, its just a GUI frontend. I’ve finally separated all the logic into the dll, see the CodePlex release page for an example of how to use it to interact with the TVDB API

TVScout 0.5D

TVScout has come a long way since I launched it, and last night I updated it (to v0.5D) to migrate to the new theTVDB API, as they turned off the old one, breaking all previous versions of TVScout (and Sam’s ruby tvscraper)

New Features (from 0.4)

Oh, and it’s open source too, hosted on CodePlex :)
