<description>I’d probably go for 2x2GB. I went for 2x1GB Kingston 800mhz ram (value kit? I think), because at the time that was the cheapest way to get 2gb of RAM.
For a HTPC, it doesn’t need any more than that.

Timings, well, the lower the better in theory. Just like the faster (533,667, 800, 1066) is in theory better. The problem is unless you’ve overclocking a lot, you’ll get very little benefit from having slightly better timings, or 1066mhz instead of 800mhz RAM. Both Corsair kits should work fine, Corsair is a very big brand, so it’s their business to make it work with everything. Personally, I’d go for the “Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C5 4GB (2x2GB) 5-5-5-18” kit.

Hope this helps/it wasn’t too late!</description>

		<description>Hi Paul,

Firstly, im really enjoying your reviews, both in Whirlpool and this blog site.

Could you tell me please, what brand and model of memory are you using?

Im about to purchase everything at the lowest prices around from pccasegear.com.au
and am totally confused with the amount of different types. Im really keep on Corsair, and of 4GB in total. Would you go 2 x 2GB or 4 x 1GB?
the timings also confuse me. in particular the 2 ive narrowed it down to are:

$183 - Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX 4GB (2x2GB) 4-4-4-12
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&amp;cPath=186_537&amp;products_id=7128

$119 - Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C5 4GB (2x2GB) 5-5-5-18
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&amp;cPath=186_537&amp;products_id=6553

both aren&#039;t on GA&#039;s memory support list, as there&#039;s too many types of memory in the world for GA to test and approve.

Any help would be appreciated heaps.
